Wayne Parkes

Wayne Parkes is the Founder and Managing Director of The Executive Shortlist. He has accumulated more than 36 years experience as a Manager and Director in Senior Human Resource consultancy and been a trusted advisor and confidant to senior executives in some of Australia’s largest corporate entities. He has a BA degree from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ and is the author of the popular business text “Recruiting in Australia”
published by Reed Books in 1986.
From a marketing role with a major US Oil company his consulting experience grew through Information Technology recruitment to become the Australasian Director of Australia’s
largest Executive Recruitment advertiser. He pioneered the introduction of
Leadership-based 360° feedback programs in the early 1990s while leading a team of consultants operating out of 5 offices in Australia and New Zealand.

He has dealt with senior executives and CEOs across a wide variety of organisations including Blue chip corporations, SMEs, Government and NFPs. He served as a Board member of Charities and Sporting Clubs for 18 years including the Guide Dog Association (Chairman for 6 years), Middle Harbour Yacht Club and NSW Water Ski Association. The Executive Shortlist was founded in 1980 and partnered with Wareham International until 1999. Although spending a ‘lifetime’ in the field of recruitment, executive evaluation, appraisal and placement he especially enjoys helping managers to grow and excel as leaders in their own right.
